Bahamians in Florida

Until the abolition of slavery in the British colonies in 1834, most Caribbeans who entered the United States did so involuntarily. But by the mid-nineteenth century Caribbean immigrants started to make their way to America by choice. The movement accelerated at the turn at the twentieth century.
