Nigerians, the Largest Community

According to the 2000 census, there are 135,000 Nigerian immigrants in the United States. This number, however, does not take into account the children of Nigerian parents born in the United States. Nigerian associations claim that the real numbers are two to three times higher. About 21,000 Nigerians live in Texas, the largest concentration in the country. New York, Maryland, and California follow as destinations for the Nigerian community
