Homowo Celebration

Every year, Ghanaian immigrants celebrate the Homowo festival in New York. The celebration, taking place in August, was originally linked to the harvests. It is a time, in Ga culture, when everyone returns to the home of his or her father. Those expatriates who can, do indeed go back home for a time; others, faithful to their traditions, recreate the festival in the United States.
